Canal du Midi, South of France. Built by Paul Riquet and completed 1681. A total distance of 240 kms from Sete to Toulouse, of which we meandered 30kms passing through 16 locks between Argens Minervois and Trebes. The canal established a vital link, via the Garonne river, between the Atlantic and Mediterranean.
