If you’re seeking inspiration for your photography or simply wish to enjoy your hobby with like-minded people – you’re in the right spot!

Our purpose at Queensland Camera Group is to provide a fun, friendly and supportive outlet for photographers of all standards seeking to develop their skills.

Since 1956, Queensland Camera Group has been an active and well-respected club based in Brisbane’s western suburbs. We are a club of friendly and motivated photography enthusiasts of all skill levels.

Each month we provide regular practical and educational meetings including guest speakers, photoshoots, workshops and invaluable feedback on competition entries.

Club Meetings

Meetings are held on the first, second and fourth Thursday each month at SPACE Hall, Cnr Branton & Paley Streets Kenmore Hills, Brisbane.  We provide a combination of face-to-face and live-streamed Zoom meetings to provide flexibility for members to attend in person or online. Here’s a full list of our meetings:

• Focus Group (1st Thursdays) – generally hands on workshops led by advanced QCG photographers or invited guests supporting the education of members in all aspects of photography

• Speaker Nights (2nd Thursdays) – invited guest speakers provide educational lecture style presentations on relevant photographic topics

• Competition Nights (4th and 5th Thursdays) – qualified photographic judges provide image critiques and judging of print and digital images in monthly graded competitions.

• Portrait Group (3rd Saturdays) – monthly portrait group sessions often using the club’s studio lighting and equipment and invited models. Members of all skills levels welcome.

• Photoshoot Outings (variable but often last Sunday of month) – fun and social practical shootings are arranged each month at different locations in and around Brisbane

Members must pre-register their attendance at all meetings using the club’s online Floktu booking management system. There is an entry fee payable for each Speaker Night, Competition Night and Portrait Group session. The fee is approximately $4.50 per meeting and this is paid when registering on Floktu. Alternatively, members may pay an annual up-front entry fee of $70 which covers all Speaker, Competition and Portrait meetings for the year. This up-front fee reduces to $35 for those wishing to register for the final six months of the year (July-December).
